GM started production of 5,000 Chevy Volts per month January

GM to increase Chevy Volt production to 5,000 units per month in January to meet pent up demand and begin foreign sales.Greater demand for Volt supplies.

As soon as January, will rise to GM Chevy Volt production 5,000 units per month to cover pent demand for the plug-in hybrid, according to Bloomberg, however, versions of the Volt and Buick Cadillac has a "freeze," at least for now.

The 60,000 Volts in order to produce the next year, 45,000 will be on us, while the other 15,000 will for foreign markets, including the Opel Ampera.

According to IHS analyst Chris Hopson, GM must sell between 35,000-50,000 Volts in 2012, followed by 60,000 or 70,000 units by 2013. However, it would probably be 5 or 6 years ago, GM is the sale of at least 100,000 Volts per year, and these sales are largely dependent on what happens after pent demand and early adopters have made their purchases.

Other topics include long-term decreasing tax credits and incentives, competition and if GM can scale down production costs.

Likewise, Nissan is expected to sell 35,000 Leafs time, followed by 54,000 by 2013.
