V8: Liuzzi subscribe to surfers event

Tonio Liuzzi has become the first driver in formula 1 today to register for V8 Supercar this year round at Surfers Paradise in October.

The Italian corridor HCT will co-drive with Ford driver Tony D' Albert in the Falcon by the latter of the TDR team.

It is the seventh driver with experience in formula one that will compete at the event.

Liuzzi will join Mika Salo, Jan Magnussen, Sebastian Bourdais, Christian Klien, Gianni Morbidelli and Stéphane Sarrazin in the October 21-23 event.

"Had a good look in the TDR car when he was in the Grand Prize of Australia in the year and I was really impressed by" says Liuzzi.

"There is no much difference in size between Tony and I and our seating position should be comfortable together." We are a good team.

"I don't think I will take time to adapt to the car." Tests a day before being good. I have experience with powerful lounge cars and enjoy of them driving. I see the V8 Supercars to be very similar.

"After discovering that he was coming to Australia the race, I followed the V8 Supercars a bit closer." It seems very exciting close racing.

"The test will make previously will be very important." "I would like to make more time in the car, but I guess that it is the same for all."

Preparations for the race of this year include one day of testing at Queensland Raceway on October 19.
