For those who don't know, the idea Foundry is a Municipality located in the Columbus laboratory, Ohio. Currently at 10,000 square feet of lab, educational centre supérieur, artist hackerspace and business incubator, as well as general public community access to all manner of tools (welding, woodworking, CNC machining, laser cutting, 3D printing and others).

On 15 August, the store has the opportunity to develop in the neighbouring industrial unit (additional 10, 000sq ft). In this way, you will be able to split the workshop into a space that is "dirty" (current location) with welding, woodworking, metal casting, metal fabrication, CNC machining and other processes of dust-and chip-making. and a "clean" space (new wing) with, inter alia, resources planned in photographic dark room, a binteografias stage, a textiles/upholstery, orthogonal to the lithography room topiografies/Printmaking, screenprinting and circuits metal masks, as well as about a dozen more studio spaces for artists.

To celebrate newly achieved the goal of destination, there will be a huge party on 20 August, 2011, both the old and the new space.  That day, the idea Foundry will also host the 3rd annual tool Racing leagues (more information to follow shortly); interactive demonstrations of the design and construction, our new wing providing guided tours, and throw an after party with live music, "Burning Man"-style performances and much more.
