WRC: Loeb was delayed in opening stage

Ford's hopes of a much-needed victory in Rally of Finland have had a coup in the stage of opening up, with an engine problem leads to a trip off the road of Sebastien Loeb.

Loeb lost 37.9 seconds Jari Ketomaa fastest man on the opening of the Lankamaa stage tonight. It continues in the event, with damage to the rear suspension and brakes Fiesta RS WRC.

"He became a left-handed and the engine just died," said Loeb. "I didn't have any unity in everything, lost the brakes and the direction and we hit the tree."

Loeb, who has not won a gravel of the World Rally Championship since Rally Australia in 2009, has high hopes of repeating their victory of that year. Now, however, lost more time in little more than 10 kilometres of remaining competition tonight.

Teammate Loeb Jari-Matti Latvala is the third after SS1, Sebastien Loeb second and fourth in his Citroens with Sebastien Ogier.

Ketomaa is driving an RS WRC party as something exceptional in his round of start of the series, and - along with Corsair Mini Matti Rantanen had been cutting edge as a potential podium finishing device. Rantanen is faster from Minis through the sixth best time of the accounting.
